Travels with Kenzie - June Newsletter

Hey friends!

After four straight months of catching flights, I’m officially taking a month off from traveling.

Wisconsin finally decided to bring us some good weather, so I’m soaking up the sunshine, enjoying being home, and trying not to immediately open Google Flights out of habit. Small victories, right?

This month, I’m leaning into local adventures, slower weekends, and maybe finally tackling a few Wisconsin spots that have been sitting on my “I live here, so why haven’t I done this yet?” list.

Destination Spotlight: Western Caribbean

This month’s destination spotlight is taking us to the Western Caribbean aboard Royal Caribbean’s Star of the Seas.

This itinerary was packed in the best way: Thrill Island waterpark at CocoCay, snorkeling with sea turtles, swimming with dolphins, and plenty of beachy, blue-water moments in between.

We stopped at CocoCay, Roatan, Costa Maya, and Cozumel, and each port brought something totally different. If you’re the kind of traveler who likes a mix of adventure, sunshine, excursions, and “I can’t believe this water is real” moments, you’ll want to add this cruise itinerary to your list.

Travel Tip: Take Luggage Pics

Pro tip: Take a photo of everything inside your suitcase before you close it and hand it over to the airline.

I don’t always remember to do this, but I really try to make it part of my packing routine. It takes about 30 seconds, and it can make filing a claim so much easier if your luggage gets lost.

Because trying to remember exactly which black leggings, swimsuit, charger, and “just in case” outfit were in your bag after travel chaos hits? Not ideal.

You’ll want to snap a quick photo of the inside of your suitcase, your luggage tag, and the outside of the bag before check-in. Future you may be very grateful.

Where in the World is Kenzie Headed Next?

This month, I’m staying in Wisconsin and soaking up sweet summertime close to home. I’m hoping to get out to a few of my favorite local spots, enjoy the warmer weather, and work on a Green Bay guide to share this summer.

If you have a local favorite in Green Bay or Northeast Wisconsin, hit reply and send it my way. I’m always looking for hidden gems, good food, scenic walks, and places that make you say, “Wait, why haven’t I been here sooner?”

Travel Product of the Month: Bluetooth Adapter for Airplanes

My travel product of the month is a Bluetooth transmitter for airplanes.

I thankfully have Beats with a cord that can connect to most seatback screens, but if you use AirPods or other wireless headphones, you’ll need a little device like this to connect them during your flight.

It’s small, easy to pack, and one of those “why didn’t I buy this sooner?” travel items if you like watching movies on the plane without using the free earbuds that somehow always feel like they were designed in 2004.

You can check out the Bluetooth transmitter here

Hi friends! I feel like September came and went in about five minutes. I’ve been trying to squeeze in the last few rounds of golf before Wisconsin decides it’s officially winter, while also fully embracing everything I love about fall. The cooler mornings, changing leaves, football weekends, and excuse to spend more time outside make this one of my favorite times of year. I’ve also been spending a lot of time catching up on content from Norway and starting to think ahead to some of the trips...

Hello & Happy September! August was a pretty exciting month around here. We got back from an amazing 10-day trip to Norway, and overall, it was fabulous. We also somehow lucked out with the weather. Norway tends to get quite a bit of rain, but we had several beautiful, sunny days during our trip. I definitely wasn’t complaining! I’m working hard on my Norway vlog now, and I’m hoping to start sharing a lot more from the trip in upcoming newsletters. There’s plenty to come because Norway gave...

This month, I’m looking back on our Disney trip from spring, getting ready for Norway, and sharing a few travel tips to make your next adventure a little easier. Destination Spotlight: Disney World We recently spent two days exploring three Disney World...
