Travels with Kenzie - March Newsletter

Hey there!

Spring is finally starting to show up here in Wisconsin and I’m very ready for it. The longer days and warmer weather always make me start thinking about upcoming trips.

This time of year also feels like the unofficial kickoff to travel season. Spring break trips are happening, summer plans are starting to come together, and everyone seems to have at least one adventure on the calendar.

If you’re planning a trip soon, I hope you’ve got something exciting ahead! And if your travels for the year are still unplanned, I have a destination in this newsletter that’s absolutely worth adding to your list.

Destination Spotlight: Banff

If Banff isn’t already on your bucket list, you’ll want to add it. This is where my picture above is from!

Banff National Park in the Canadian Rockies is one of the most scenic places I’ve ever visited. Think bright turquoise lakes, jagged mountain peaks, and wildlife around almost every corner.

In my opinion, it’s one of those destinations that truly lives up to the hype. Some must-see highlights include Lake Louise, Moraine Lake, the Icefields Parkway, and the town of Banff itself. The views feel unreal, and every stop along the drive seems more beautiful than the last.

If you’re planning a trip, I put together a full one week itinerary that covers the best stops, hikes, and viewpoints.

Travel Tip: Pack Needed Items In Carry On

Here’s a simple travel tip that can save your trip if something goes wrong.

A few years ago when Andrew and I were traveling to Iceland, we had a direct flight from Chicago to Iceland and arrived at the airport well in advance. Maybe even too far in advance… because somehow our luggage didn’t make it. How a suitcase gets lost on a direct flight beats me, but anything is possible when you’re traveling.

The good news is that right after the airport we had a reservation at the famous Blue Lagoon. Luckily, I had packed my swimsuit in my carry on just in case something like this happened.

Pro tip: always pack a change of clothes and anything you absolutely need in your carry on. Things like medication, chargers, and essentials can save the day if your luggage decides to take a different trip than you.

Trust me, you’ll be very glad you did.

Where in the World is Kenzie Headed Next?

I have two quick trips coming up.

First, I’m heading to Indianapolis for tennis sectionals. It’ll be a quick weekend trip in Indy, but I’m excited for some competitive matches and a fun getaway.

After that, I'm heading to Las Vegas with some friends and staying at The Cosmopolitan. We’re planning to watch March Madness, explore the strip, and hopefully try a few great restaurants while we’re there.

If you have any Indy or Vegas favorites, hit reply and let me know. I’m always up for a local favorite or hidden gem recommendation.

Travel Product of the Month: AirTag

If you want a little extra peace of mind while traveling, an Apple AirTag can be a really helpful travel gadget.

You can put one in your checked luggage and track exactly where your bag is during travel right from your phone. If your luggage gets delayed or sent to the wrong airport, you’ll at least know where it ended up.

Hi friends! I feel like September came and went in about five minutes. I’ve been trying to squeeze in the last few rounds of golf before Wisconsin decides it’s officially winter, while also fully embracing everything I love about fall. The cooler mornings, changing leaves, football weekends, and excuse to spend more time outside make this one of my favorite times of year. I’ve also been spending a lot of time catching up on content from Norway and starting to think ahead to some of the trips...

Hello & Happy September! August was a pretty exciting month around here. We got back from an amazing 10-day trip to Norway, and overall, it was fabulous. We also somehow lucked out with the weather. Norway tends to get quite a bit of rain, but we had several beautiful, sunny days during our trip. I definitely wasn’t complaining! I’m working hard on my Norway vlog now, and I’m hoping to start sharing a lot more from the trip in upcoming newsletters. There’s plenty to come because Norway gave...

This month, I’m looking back on our Disney trip from spring, getting ready for Norway, and sharing a few travel tips to make your next adventure a little easier.
